On Wednesday, May 28, Committee members granted a hearing to the report of the Chairman of the Counterterrorist operation, representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, the Defence Ministry, the Internal Affairs Ministry, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service.

Consideration of the issue was held behind the closed doors.

The people’s deputies have also considered the draft law on amendments to several legislative acts of Ukraine (re guarantees for the employees for the period of performing their duties in connection with mobilization), registered under No. 4670.

The bill suggests establish that after dismissal from military service, employees shall be granted the previous work (position) or, in case of its absence, the equal work (position) on the same place or other enterprise, institution, or organization by consent of the employee.

Following the results of discussion, the Committee noted that the suggestions included in the bill were already settled in the applicable legislation and it is not expedient to place them for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada.

The Committee upheld the decision to make specifications, under article 131 of the Rules of Procedure of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, to the Law “On amendments to several laws of Ukraine re refining defense and mobilization issues during mobilization” (Reg. No. 4785), adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on May 20, 2014.
